While there are many smart home devices to choose from, the most common include lights, video doorbells, and security cameras. It’s easy to turn on the lights automatically, which helps us without having to interact all day. However, our cameras are passive devices that we only react to when something happens.
This means that we may not be able to stop something before it happens, or we may miss out on an enjoyable moment, or just get some peace of mind. The new Eufy Smart Display E10 aims to solve this problem with live displays, alarms and more for your Eufy security devices.

What I like about the Eufy Smart Display E10
Peace of mind at a glance
It seems that in the past few years, brands have been giving us more ways to manage our smart homes with purpose-built devices. Amazon launched the Echo Hub in 2024, which can work like any of the other Amazon Echo smart displays. It is designed to be a dedicated central device for controlling smart home devices.
Other smart controllers have emerged to help give us more ways to control our devices instead of relying on a phone or voice. The new Eufy Smart Display E10 aims to achieve a similar feat to our security devices.
This 8-inch tablet is an unassuming piece of technology, featuring a white plastic back and a black front. I like that although the Eufy includes a charging dock, it also places a kickstand on the back of the tablet. The device also features a microSD card slot that supports a storage capacity of up to 512 GB. It also works with the Eufy HomeBase S380 for external storage.
The kickstand is a valuable addition, as the monitor features a 4,050 mAh battery, providing up to 24 hours of playback. This allows you to carry it with you while working at home or even in your garden, assuming there is Wi-Fi coverage.
When you don’t have it with you, mounting it to the wall and wrapping the USB-C power cord around the included stand helps for a clean installation. You can always choose a countertop with a pavement.
The screen itself looks beautiful. You get a 1280 x 800 LCD touchpad for navigating the software, and it’s quite responsive. Eufy has done a very good job with the UI of the E10. Aside from being fast, whether that involves scrolling through different screens, accessing your live stream, or editing your homepage, everything works well.
Setting up the device is simple and only requires a tablet for this process, as it does not connect to the Eufy app. After logging into your Eufy account, the tablet will load all compatible Eufy security devices and then allow you to start customizing your screen.
You can set up your home screen in different ways to get exactly the view you want, whether that’s individual cameras, a camera grid of up to four devices, playback, or any combination of these. When you’re done, using the Smart Display E10 works as you’d expect. Tapping the camera brings up a live view, where you can interact with the microphone, pan the camera if it supports it, view playback, and more.
At the top edge of the screen are the power button, volume rocker, speaker, and action button. This is a customizable button that can be used to quickly start the live camera view, set it to Do Not Disturb mode, put it on silent mode, or trigger alarms on devices of your choice.
What I don’t like about the Eufy Smart Display E10
I don’t like it, but I get it
When a brand that makes and sells smart home devices decides to create a product that manages these devices, there is one important choice to make: open or closed. With the Smart Display E10, Eufy has shut down, and I understand why. The E10 is designed to manage security devices, which means it has access to private information.
By locking off the display from other smart home brands and devices, Eufy reduces the risk of problems. Hopefully it will be unlocked later, but for now, if you don’t have Eufy security hardware, the Smart Display E10 won’t be of use to you. On the compatibility front, you also won’t be able to add this device to your Google Home or Amazon Alexa setup, as it doesn’t integrate with either of those platforms.
This is more of an issue for me than access to other security devices, as Eufy makes some of the best security cameras on the market. I wish I could access Google Assistant (preferably Gemini) or Amazon Alexa, and treat the screen like a security smart display.
What I find most confusing is the lack of compatibility within the Eufy ecosystem. There is no device management within the Eufy app. The Smart Display E10 doesn’t even work with all Eufy cameras. The website only states that “the Eufy Smart Display E10 supports most Eufy outdoor cameras, indoor cameras, video doorbells, and smart locks,” without providing a hardware list.
I understand that the E10 is not compatible with the new Eufy PoE NVR security system; Review coming. I’m sure product support will be expanded, but as of now, all I can say is that it’s currently limited.
Should you buy it?
I appreciate what Eufy is doing with the Smart Display E10. It brings a visible element to our home security systems. Sure, it’s nice to be able to turn a smart TV into a smart home hub, but a portable security command display is something even more useful than a TV. Allowing a more proactive side to monitor our homes, and even the possibility of making pleasant memories.
Being able to look past E10 with the live stream and see something silly that my kids and dog are doing is something I would have missed if I couldn’t look at the stream and see it. Although the product is well polished, features good hardware, fast software, and really useful features, the lack of compatibility outside of the Eufy ecosystem can be a deterrent for many.
If you invest in another security platform, you won’t be able to use the Smart Display E10, nor will you be able to manage any other smart devices with it. However, for those who are already in or thinking about picking up some Eufy security hardware, this is a great addition.
