Nomad, a company that produces various cables, charger, case and other accessories for Apple devices, recently came up with an updated version of its base station charger.
The original base station is designed to charge two iPhones at once, the updated Apple Watch version is able to charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch.
The Base Station Apple Watch version has a flat, leather -covered aluminum wireless charging pad that has an elevated Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Put on the left to adjust an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch Charger’s location allows Apple Watch to be kept in nightstand mode, ideal to charge a bed table.
According to the design, the base station is a smooth black color, which will fit well with any modern office or room setup. There are two non-slip rubber strips to keep it below, and the leather pad prevents the iPhone from traveling while charging and provides a soft space to keep it.
When it comes in size, because it is a flat charger, it takes more space than the steep charger. It measures a bit six inches long and about 4 inches wide, so it is not huge, but it is certainly larger than some connected Apple Watch/iPhone charger. I would like to see one in between with a small footprint that has an erect charger option and an Apple Watch charging option.
A total of three wireless charging coils are built at the base station for charging the iPhone, so it can charge an iPhone horizontally placed vertically across the charging pad or right to the right.
The original base station can charge two iPhones at once, but due to the position of Apple Watch Charging Pak, it simply works with an iPhone. It fits comfortably any size iPhone up to the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 to 6.5-inch XS max.
You can’t fold the Apple Watch part of the charger, which means it is not ideal for taking it while traveling. A fold-down solution allowed the base station to work with the Apple Watch or two iPhones, but since the Apple Watch Charger is permanently fixed, this is not a possibility.
Nomad says on his website that Apple Watch Base Station can charge three devices simultaneously, but what it is mentioned is a Q-enabled adapter for airpods. So if you have a wireless charging adapter like Hyperjwis for your airpods, you can charge the airpods wirelessly at the base station with an Apple Watch and an iPhone.
To work on this setup, the wireless charging case needs to be located at the bottom left of the Apple Watch Charging Pak and the iPhone needs to be located vertically on the right side of the base station.
When Apple finally publishes an airpodes case that earbods are able to charge wirelessly, it will also work with the base station if it supports QI wireless charging as a rumor.
The base station has three LEDs that will let you know how many devices are being charged at once. It is decorated with an ambient light sensor, so at night, the light goes down and does not bother sleep, which is a thoughtful design choice. A white light indicates a full -charged device, while the amber lets you know that any device still needs charging.
Since there are three coils at this base station, I had no problem charging my iPhone when I kept it horizontally in the charger, but with the iPhone XS Max, on the right, I had to do some fidget when it was placed vertically, which is a bit of a standard operating method with most flat charger.
The base station itself is powered by an inclusive cord and power adapter, which is rather large. Although on the plus, the adapter comes with various uses for use in Europe and the United Kingdom, so that you can travel with it possible.
This is a 7.5W wireless charger, which means Apple is charging Apple’s iPhones at the highest charging speed that supports Apple. In my exam, my iPhone X was charged from 1 percent to 44 percent within an hour, which I am watching from most of the 7.5W Wireless charging options about the charging speed.
Like all QI-based wireless charger, Apple works with Apple’s iPhone and other smartphones that have wireless charging support, as do Android devices. For Android devices, the base station supports the charging speed of up to 10W.
You can charge your iPhone with the base station while the iPhone is in one case and in our experience, in most cases, except for super dense, the back wallet inserts, or the metal components will charge fine.
Bottom line
It is an interesting, high quality charging station that fits well with modern office design and it also provides an all-in-one solution to charge both Apple Watch and an iPhone.
This is, of course, expensive at $ 120, which is about to interrupt the buyer. Standelone Apple Watch and Wireless iPhone Charging Solutions are available at more affordable prices points, such as combined charging options.
Apple-apple Watch Charger is using Apple-Opened components, and the Apple certificate is not cheap, which explains the high price tag. The price is definitely going to be a dealbreaker for some people, but those who do not object to the premium for the design and want to give all in-one charging to the base station a look.

The Apple Watch version of the base station can be purchased for $ 119.95 from the travel website. There is a limited number of base stations available here, but customers can sign up to inform when work is re -working.
