Designer Philip Lee, known for the lines of classicboat toys after the Apple Products, was published with his latest statue earlier this year with The Iboy.
A tribute to Apple’s iPod Classic of palm-size Iboy Apple, first published in 2001. Design Wise, IBY an iPod and a cross between a robot and making it a fun desktop toy or shelf decoration.
The body of Aiboy looks like a classic iPod, a fake screen that has a robot’s face and a functional click wheel that can press. The wheel in the middle is just as an iPod turns like a iPod and the four buttons around the wheel can press like a middle button.
The buttons have a satisfactory click that iPod fans will remind their classic music players and the weight is like a key iPod. The buttons of Ibea were my favorite part because an intelligent desktop is fun to be in addition to being accessories.
None of the elements of the ibbey is effective electronics, but the details of the design are impressive. Standard IBY is just as white as classic iPod, but there is also a special version of black and red “2U” version (model after the U2 iPod) that creates striking desktop decoration
The front of the ibbey is made from white or black plastic like iPod, while the back is made from chrome on the back. The chrome can be at risk of scratch and scuffs, especially where the IBY logo is located, so it is a statue you want to take care of. Headphones, including chrome body, have antenna, arm and legs, all of them look like a robot to Iboy.
These additions are connected to the iboy using the magnets and containing some setup. In the magnetic parts of the ibbey, there is a small plastic covering to prevent Iboy from scratching and these small plastic coverings need to be removed. It’s not difficult, but it takes some time.
The magnets that comply with the orbies are not even stronger with the removal of the adhesive, so it is best to take care of the Iboy when it does not accidentally lose any organ. The fear of losing parts because of magnetic attachment is my biggest concern about IBY because I think I can get the toy out of a desk and easily throw an organ in the wrong place.
Although the magnetic parts are strong enough to stay in place if the iboy is fixed, and the IBO can rise to the magnetic leg. Since the arms and legs are attached magnetically, they can be arranged in different ways if they wish. This is mostly applicable to the arms, which can be raised or reduced to different locations, and headphones, which can be located above or at the bottom. The linen can be located under the ib or can be placed in the front.
The arms and goats of the ibbey can be completely removed from the IBY so that it can be displayed in the MP3 player mode, connected through an inclusive headphone cable that is connected to the top of the toy to the top of the small headphone jack. While in the MP3 player mode, the additional parts of the ibbey can be stored in a bag that comes with the toy.
Bottom line
Apple -related desk decoration looking for Apple fans will love Iboy, as Apple has special affection for the original MP3 player. Ibea’s ipod inspiration is involuntary, and it looks great in a shelves. With the clickable buttons, Iboy is the most interactive in the classic boat line of the toys and it creates a delicious desktop confusion.
