Asus Rog Ally x Review: The Superfan Model

If you are wondering about who is Rog Ally X, ask. It is made for hard -line players, and the calm who asks for absolute perfection from their gaming devices. No one denying that the first invasion of ASUS in the laptop game market was somewhat defective, thanks to things like SD holes that change french fries and bios that were not always the best (especially if the loud fans disturb you).

Asus learned all the way, while sometimes stumbled. Rog Ally X is here to fix all of that. However, I spent a lot of time over the past year in a dream about what the ideal device will look like, and today, I am happy to report that ASUS has approached anyone else with the new Rog Ally X, until the delay over the deck.

Rog Ally X is retaining for $ 800 and can be purchased from Best Buy and ASUS. Until now, it does not seem that Best Buy has been sold, and since we are a few days away from launch, the arrow will continue for those who want one. The first ally of Rog was easy enough for the obstacle, and ASUS appears to have done a good job to launch X.

What is good in Asus Rog Ally X

Asus is not joke when you say this is a device for lovers. Since I was enthusiastic about the hand by hand, I had to have a review of Rog Ally X, where I was curious if ASUS managed to present it. I am happy with the cart, so let’s publish the reason for this.

The first thing in people’s mind is likely whether ASUS has fixed the SD card hole that was taking cards in the previous form. Thanks to the thickness of the new X model, the fan exhaust outlets are now behind the SD hole, not beside it. With some heavy tests, I can confirm that games play from the card without die, and this is definitely a welcome change.

I am also a fan of this additional fish. I don’t like how thin the original model, which may look ridiculous, but these devices are not in any way, so I prefer to have more batteries and better cooling that leads to a great feeling in the hand. Since ASUS has reconsidered the form of a fist to launch X, it sits in my hands better than the previous model, even with additional thickness and randomness.

Another thing I love is the additional random access memory. Although I cannot say that the OG RAM has disturbed me since X provides more, the default setting is now 8 GB, which means less resorting with changing this setting for each game since the amount is higher.

So, games like Diablo 4 work better when changing the RAM settings in the OG model to something above now, they should not change the system of random access for the system to play smoothly to X. This applies mainly to all the games that used to have to request RAM up; It is not a problem with X and puts the surface of the excellent steam and 16 GB in shame.

It may seem shocking, but I love how to process ASUS with hardware drivers, especially graphics drivers. As you see, ASUS takes drivers from AMD and modifies them to better work on ROG ally. After testing my share of laptops, I can say that ASUS offers the best performance of the game from many, and I definitely think that this is thanks to the drivers’ adjustments that reach an additional mile.

Also, the fan noise is significantly quieter. I spent a lot of time to test games on the original ROG ally, from 720 pixels up to 1080 pixels, and I prefer to escalate on the screen to 60 Hz. Some addresses that can retain 60 frames per second stable raising the fan level in the original model slightly to a noticeable degree.

With X, we get quieter speeds than fans after there are fans. Connect this to the thick structure that puts the fan openings away from the player and noise, even when going strongly, it is acceptable. Trust me; This is a huge NitPick for OG. I hate the fan noise, and yet, I haven’t tested a game that makes noise unbearable, like the previous model.

Then there is a thumb. The original copies are weak and ineffective. They feel panic, thanks to the loose extent. New sticks in Rog Ally X Semitic. Well, this may be exaggerated in things, but they feel cute and compared to the Xbox control unit, which is completely good with me. I no longer feel that I swire my jungle violently in the archers; With the most tight controls come more accurate. This is another reformed issue.

And as much as it seems irony, I love the new color. It is ancient black boring, just like a steam surface and every beauty. But do you know what? Rog Ally X is well worn, and now you don’t have to worry about staining your hard hand with my lipid wounds.

What is bad in Asus Rog Ally X

There are some pain points worth highlighting

Drivers are a double -edged sword. Yes, ASUS does a great job with her drivers, but since we do not get them directly from AMD (there are ways to download them, but this tends to cause other problems), there is a delay.

So, suppose you want to play the role of Ghost of Tsushima, a modern version. Well, not the current Rog Ally and Rog Ally X drivers are the latest from AMD, so you can get a warning that the game may not play properly, and this is all thanks to the delay that ASUS needs to be modified before launching, which means that there are problems that play the game on the ally, such as art and wandering in the animation of the wind.

Small problems, for sure, but I also played the game with the latest AMD driver on Ayneo Geek 1S, and I don’t get any such warning, as drivers are not judges because these are directly from AMD and newer, and I do not see any artifact or pixels in the wind. So there is a price that is paid for it, and these are new games that may not work properly.

Regarding aesthetics, I definitely enjoy the new color, but I also love to see a new plastic shell that comes with it. The original plastic feels fragile and cheap, as well as dandruff for the X. Think about how the original game boy feels, thick solid plastic, and how I felt uninterested but also satisfied. Many manufacturers get this right. I like to use Nintendo plastic for Joycons and its official monitoring.

Heck, Ayanio, a company that prides itself on creating advanced devices, uses huge and delayed plastic in its portable shells. The plastic used by Rog and Rog Ally X ally for their shells feels cheap, thin, unpleasant touch, and loved, like plastic almost that you pick it away from a cheap -style building.

I don’t like it, and I definitely think we deserve something more stable for $ 800. Of course, you can always go with a less powerful option, although it is less powerless in Ayaneo pocket or pocket air, but there are also some things that must be taken into account with these models, taking into account that you get more attractive with X.

I also found LED settings on Rog Ally X to be a little shaken. My unit may only have rushed out of the door to test, but I constantly change the LED color, just to see it returns later. It is not a big problem, and I can stop it if it really bothered me, but this is something that has no original updated.

Should you buy it?

Yes, yes, and yes. I have the original and I plan to buy X now after I have a week to properly test the mobile. To a large extent, it provides many improvements that make the cost worth it for me. Only about each problem with the original is fixed now; You feel a brilliant thumb now wonderfully, and as much as SD cards, there are no fires here. There is not enough space, pain to modification, now it is easy to add storage and a lot comes with it. Only one shipping port, and now there are two. I can continue. There is a lot. ASUS does not say it says it made this device for lovers, so if you are a boy, can I say this to you.

Yes, there is still a need to treat some things; There is no perfect effort, at least not yet. Despite more weight that feels a roof in the hand, the plastic is still cheap and thin. High drivers can be of pain, but at least, this is why the ROG ally is the most performance in the market.

Now that we have more random access memory, storage and battery life, you can play more of your games often and more smoothly; ASUS displays her in the game industry. ASUS definitely had a fair share of Snafus, but one thing is certain: I got Rog Ally Right, and Rog Ally X is a more polishing version easily received by the promises of the original and then some.
