Review: Dyson’s ontrac is nail, but we forget the basics

Dyson is an air company – it makes voids, hair dryers, air purification and the like. Somehow, it is not surprising that the brand in the headphone market ventures, because the sound only moves in its basic forms. The first pair of DYSON headphones was the DYSON region, a $ 800 system that includes large drivers and attached air purification system. Now, we have Dyson Ontrac, a more reasonable pair of $ 500 of the ear headphones with a value of $ 500 with no active noise.

At this price point, there is no doubt about the ONTRAC mode to be the AirPods Max killer. This requires creating an account and sharing your site with Dyson, which I do not feel overwhelmed. Oh, these headphones are Bluetooth 5.0, which feels dated in 2024. I have faced somewhat regular communication audio, which made me think I haven’t had a $ 500 experience.

Dyson is primarily close to providing a strong experience. There is a multi -directional button that can be used to control the sound and play level. It is placed slightly on the back of the right ear, making it difficult to reach. On the opposite Earcup, there is a power and pairing button. It is strange that some of the eight ANC microphones emerge from the ear, and it is easy to pass while reaching a button and hearing unwanted notes.

More importantly, you should switch between ANC and the transparency link by clicking on a finger twice on any of the ear. This is a terrible way to navigate between commonly used situations. I did not find a way to reliably convey ANC conditions in the first attempt using these taps. This is one of the reasons that you will want to use Mydyson app – you can change ANC models with a simple click.

The app also allows you to change the equalizer settings. For some reason, Ontrac uses improved pre -preparation by default does not look great. Not everyone will try their EQ settings to fix how their headphones vote. You can get a pair of Sony or Bose, such as Quietcomfort Ultra, with a better sound of noise cancellation for better money than ONTRAC.

Do you have to buy Dyson Oontrac?

I do not say that no one should buy Dyson Ontrac – they have a great battery life, solid sound quality (after EQ modifications), and creative design. However, the $ 500 spent on the husband may be better to spend on a pair cheaper than Sonos, Bose or Sony headphones. There was enough inconvenience and frustration during my presence with Ontrac that convinced me that the experience did not match the price point.
