I am a big fan of ONYX products. I can use Onyx Boox Go 10.3 per day to write down notes and wipe PDFS. It is a great production device that highlights what ONYX does better: providing Android flexibility with the charm and benefits of the ink width E. Unfortunately, this winning formula cannot be repeated at all levels of price, and ONYX BOOX GO 6 suffers from trying to do a lot.
I love parts of Box Go6, but the entire package does not provide a better choice than most competition – especially for $ 149. Let’s take a look at what I liked (and not) in my time using Onyx Box Go 6.

What is good in Onyx Box Go 6?
Show and building quality
Despite my other views about Box Go6, the offer is simply great. It is a Carta 1300 monochrome palette with 6 inches with a resolution of 1448 x 1072 and 300pi. Wonderful outdoor viewing, with sharp text and great contrast. Words look printed on the screen, which was a joy for reading. Boox GO6 front lighting system also works well, and provides full brightness and color temperature. Therefore, you can have a cooler and clean tone throughout the day and the warmer and friendly Leono during the evening. Dark Mode is available, although I found it difficult to find the benefits on the ink screen E.
I am still the best monochromatic offers for electronic readers. The color is a welcoming option, but unless you need it for a specific thing, black and white are more than enough, especially when it is fragile as in Box Go6. ONYX included control options for the granular offer on Box Go 6, allowing us to adjust the update rates and DPI settings. It also provided engraved settings for famous Android applications, such as Kindle and Libby. If you have another onyx device, you can download your application settings through the cloud, while alleviating contact applications sometimes in the screen.
The program remains a strong point in Box Go6, even if the performance is not up to the task. I love ONYX apps, from Memo Calendar, replacing the favorite paper scheme, to Neobrowser, which is an elegant web browser application improved for E ink screen. Onyx prepares the transfer of files back and forth from your computer easily, and you can even download page notes and PDFS between desktop and other onyx devices if necessary. Onyx’s naviball is the best way to navigate in Box Go6, which quickly provides a screen refreshing and multiple tasks.
I love Box Go 6 design, where INYX remains relatively thin and light. It is a multi -plastic design, but this has benefits, as Box goes 6 tips in standards in only 146 g. A 6 -inch display screen produces a compact device, and found that it is perfectly suitable in the rear pocket of my jeans (just do not sit on it). Even with the magnetic state, Box Go6 does not occupy a large space and becomes light enough to throw in a backpack or a messenger bag without thinking if you will need it in your destination.
Boox Go 6 does not include 3.5 mm headphone socket, but it supports Bluetooth 5.0, which allows the connection of wireless headphones to meet the needs of audio auditors.
What is bad in ONYX BOOX GO 6?
Performance, or lack of
Unfortunately, Box GO 6 positives are discouraged with their horrific performance. It is supported by Snapdragon 2GB Snapdragon slices with 2 GB RAM, but it cannot provide enough horse to experience the series Android. Reading books and PDF files is original through the ONYX reader is a decent experience, as well as the calendar note and other system applications.
However, without a suitable store, you will rely on Android applications such as Kindle, Kobo, Libby and other books and audio books – every tenth experience with slowdown and collision, making reading very unpleasant. Amazon Kindle was painful for use. Opening the application can be a conflict, and the navigation is slow. I also faced several incidents and delay in recording my inputs.
My KOBO app was a little better, but the performance still could not match the Kobo Clara color. A Libyan suffered a similar slowdown. Basically, anything from the Play Store was an approximate experience. I think ONYX went with Android 11 for Box Go 6 instead of 12 because the company felt it might impose taxes on a lower slide group, but with 2GB of RAM, it is an arduous battle regardless. There is not enough memory for storing full Android applications and the system of system user interface effectively, which leads to intermittent performance, especially when you require the set of slides to open and close applications continuously.

Kobo Clara Color Reader Review: Magic, colored, and cheap
Clara color is charming and not attack, exactly what the electronic reader should be
Boox Go 6 appears to be “heats” the more use it, but I think this is a secondary result of temporarily used system applications. For example, reading a SD file is a smooth experience, as in the Onyx Calendar app. However, things begin to get a volatile outside. It is like placing an elephant on a trilogy bike and wondering why it does not move; Boox Go6 cannot get out of its weight.
I was also disappointed by the Boox Go 6 battery life. Because of the additional Android functions, I always expected that onyx devices will have a battery life worse than the typical electronic reader. However, Boox goes 6 faster than I will consider normal, and you will need to overcome once every day or two if you use Android applications greatly. It is a respectable battery volume (1500 mAh) for 6 inches electronic reader, but Android and a group of high -performance slices lead to poor performance.
Should you buy it?
Better options for the same money
Boox Go6 tries to be the best in the worlds with a lower price point than ONYX siblings, but it is not polished enough to recommend buying. Several Android tablets are available that provide a much better application experience for balance (or less). Likewise, e -readers like Kobo Clara BW cost less and still include the Carta 1300 E ink screen. In addition, its primary program is dedicated to specialized tasks, which means that it does not contain the heavy general expenses of the full Android system.
I still love the onyx online reader and I look forward to the latest versions of the company; Not every model is always recorded. Although I respect ONYX for his desire to issue a multi -use device in the budget category, Mercedes sometimes should not compete with KIA in the same market.

Unfortunately, Onyx Boox Go 6 does not make the row. However, if you are a fan of ONYX and you do not need a lot of Android functions, it is still working well as a striped reader and a PDF reader, with a great monochrome screen 1300. There are better alternatives in the market, but ONYX lovers may find some value.
