Anker Roav VIVA Review: It’s a car charger with Alexa

Quick links

Many things come to mind when I think of smart home accessories: loudspeakers, locks, shows, televisions, or perhaps wall seven. The list apparently continues to grow every day, but here Anker comes with a car charger, while it is not unique to the company, it displays Alexa as a distinctive feature. Don’t you want to outperform the money to get an assistant in your car? Here’s the best thing … Kinda, I will admit, when I heard about this for the first time, I was doubtful if I am not completely skeptical. After Aker’s men assembled Roav VIVA for us in CES, I became more interesting and said I would look at him. It contains a small amount of benefit, but the car charger with Alexa is definitely more than modernity, especially when compared to its “stupid” counterparts.

Goodness

Two outlets

VIVA features a USB-A port, so that you and your passenger can charge your phones at the same time.

Aesthetics

Although VIVA is rectangular in order to absorb the amplifier and all intelligence, I love the way it looks, especially with the typical “ring” of Alexa LED rectangular.

Alexa

You can access all the skills and services Alexa in the car charger.

Not very good

speaker

Surprise, it’s very terrible. Do not depend on it exclusively.

Feasibility

VIVA is really elegant and I love it. I just don’t know why anyone needs one.

Design and building quality

I will be summarized here, because VIVA is just a car charger, although it is larger than average. Check the measurements to ensure that it will suit your car if your cigarette is hidden in a strange place.

The VIVA president includes all intelligence, both USB-A, and I assume that some Anker Poweriq technology. The face consists of the microphones and one large button to manually activate Alexa (although it responds to the hot word). About the edge is the blue “LED” that you often find on the devices that support Alexa. It remains to indicate that VIVA is active and ready to process orders, although it can be very bright at night – fortunately, the app allows you to control brightness.

Overall, VIVA feels like a solid piece of plastic. The Alexa/Mute button has a nice and satisfactory response. During my use, I didn’t notice that the charger is getting more warm, even when two OnePlus 5TS is charged simultaneously. Because the cigarette lighter was placed in my car, FIFA knocked on my knees when I got to the passenger seat. Although I collided well, he stood up and stayed in his place in the lighter port.

Anker states that VIVA, thanks to a part of nickel capacitors and polymer condensate, can withstand temperatures between -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 257 degrees Fahrenheit, which means that the charger must remain functional in most climate cases.

In addition to all this, there is not much to say. It is a car charger.

voice

On its own, VIVA is very terrible when it comes to sound. This is not surprising, frankly, given that VIVA is a car charger. To compensate for this, ANKER has provided two ways in which you can direct the sound via loudspeakers to make it more audible.

Both methods use your phone as a broker between the charger and the car. This is the essence of this: You are talking to VIVA, it pays the request by calling the phone to both data and accessing your car sound system, then responding to this sound connection – I left me wondering whether VIVA is ridiculous or genius.

Among the two methods, it is the most basic across the AUX line for old schools. This comes with the usual inconvenience to connect your phone, but when you start Alexa, you will hear the response to your loudspeakers.

The second method is with Bluetooth. When you first prepare VIVA, the application will ask the audio method to be used. Determining the working line leads to the next screen, but the choice of Bluetooth shares the phone/car connection with the charger. This means that all Alexa information is directed by loudspeakers, but without disturbing the connection of the AUX cable to the phone.

Anker claims that VIVA technology allows it to hear over DIN from road noise, radio, conversations and any other chaos that may afflict your cabin. Two microphones and noise canceling slices help reduce the background sound by 30 %, which means VIVA is likely to hear you already. It is also characterized by echo and vocal isolation to ensure better accuracy.

Alexa

The most prominent in VIVA, a pet, is why anyone will be interested in the car charger against other options. As I said in the foreground, the car charger is the last place that I was expecting to float Alexa, but I respect what I am trying to deny – add intelligence to a car is an expensive endeavor, even when the head units are sold.

Fear of anger Alexa

Roav VIVA provides people with a way in which they can add smart features free from hands to their cars. With this device, you can access more than 25,000 Alexa skills that you will find on other products, such as Echo. VIVA uses your phone data connection to process the query (the application sits in the middle of the process as well) and it is a comprehensive smooth experience, assuming that you use any of the available sounding method.

I am less familiar with Alexa than I am with an assistant, but I did not get out of frustration or discomfort on how VIVA responds to my inquiries. I think Alexa’s voice is not like a assistant assistant, but as long as my phone had data, Alexa quickly returned with an answer or a response. This is all that he can ask, right?

Application experience

When I saw that a VIVA app was required to use non -charging bits, you were a little tense. The accessories applications are rarely good, especially for the things I usually review. However, I was surprised by pleasure when I installed and opened the Roav VIVA application for the first time. The interface is clean and unobtrusive, while the application itself is light and fast to respond.

It guides you through the steps of VIVA, including the sound option you want and sign it to Amazon to use Alexa. Settings menu contains a lot for its progress, such as the service that must be used for navigation, LED brightness, a battery saving to the host phone, and fixed program updates.

In general, the Roav VIVA application experience was a positive experience. The white and orange color scheme wanders somewhat in the dark, but it is easily overlooked thanks to the extent of the speed and cleaning of the application itself. Good work, deny.

Rating 8/10

I denounced Raf FIFA

VIVA ROAV’s (ANKER’s) VIVA is a strange small device. It raises the reaction of nearly every person I told it: “A tasty Car charger? Why? “I definitely had my doubts at first, but when I retracted the review of VIVA, I started to like it a little more, even if modernity was bounced quickly.

I think the biggest benefit was an effective way to add a hand -free system to my car without exceeding a few hundred dollars. Even if your Bluetooth does not have, you can take advantage of VIVA (assuming that you have an original AUX entry or a cassette player). VIVA is the peak of access, especially as it costs only $ 49.99.

Since it is ANKER, you can expect a stable charge as well. As I said, I tried to charge two OnePlus 5TS simultaneously and I was happy with the result. There is no level of shipping from madness here, but I have regained a respectable amount of juice.

What is great in VIVA is that it can be for everyone, and I salute Anchrin to create a product that has proven that my doubts are unfounded. The only problem, however, is that VIVA is only: luxury and modernity that is somewhat separated quickly. I would like to forget often that the charger had Alexa, even with a gentle blue LED ring. Although I have a very short interest, I am dealing with many people who buy VIVA will feel the same at the end.
