Hundreds of external battery packs are available for the iPhone, but only one small subset is sealed with Apple Seal approval and is given to Apple retail stores and Apple online stores. Mipore 3,000 mAh smart power tube offers are one of the new portable batteries, the built -in charging cables, and a lot of parks like an assistant app.
Design and features
Mipo’s smart power tube, by name, tube shaped. Although it is just four inches tall and one inch thick, a bag or purse is small enough to fit in, it is an odd size for the pocket and it is not so convenient to use the iPhone like flattery battery packs. It brings a slightly matched pouch so that it can be thrown into a bag without worrying about scratches and scuffs.
The smart power tube is found in black, white, gray and a handful of bright candy colors: turquoise, green and pink. A smooth, soft-tuch material gives the outer part of the smart power tube to the covers and a metal band distinguishes the body from the device’s cap. There are three LEDs in the metal band that display the power level and a button that activates the tube while plugging in the iPhone.
Below the cap, there is a USB connector to charge the internal battery, and a cleverly placed electricity cable that connects the power tube to an iPhone and place the device’s cap. Overall, the smart power tube feels like a premium product with integrated colors, clean lines and quality materials.
Although I like the smart power tube, there are built -in cables, but the USB connector includes it is limited. I usually charge my external battery packs using a dedicated micro-USB cable at my desk, but with the MIPO smart power tube I have to plug it directly to my computer or to keep it in a USB power adapter. This is not important for most users who will appreciate being able to plug directly to the computer to charge the power tube.
Given the size of the smart power tube and the size of the short electricity cable, it was awkward using my iPhone when charging with the battery pack. It can be located away from the back of the phone with the Moff Battery Pack I used regularly, but it was difficult to have a smart power tube because of the cap attached to the cable.
Keeping the cap in place, the power cable of the smart power tube acts as a little handle to carry it, it is a great touch. It is a suitable size to fit around a finger. Speaking of the cap, I should mention that it needs to be removed in a certain way. According to the MIPO, it should be removed using a ward -oriented swipe with a thumb rather than pulling by hand to prevent damage to the electric cable.
The electric cale is located where a thumb swipe is directly closed, where it takes a lot of energy to pull from the top, so I can see how the thunderstorm can be accidentally damaged by accident. I am concerned about the long -term effectiveness of the power tube after seeing the possibility of cable damage, but I gave it a good stress test (I have shaken it very tightly) and the cable remained safely.
I tested the power tube with my iPhone 6S Plus. I put the battery completely in place where the iPhone has closed and then plugged in a full -charged smart tube. I plugged my iPhone at the pm and I finished the battery of the smart tube by ten o’clock at night. The smart tube is taken at 77 percent, with a 2,750 mAh battery for the iPhone 6S Plus. Repeated charging sessions give similar results.
The smart power tube is not going to charge an iPhone 6S Plus, but it is going to provide adequate energy for the full charge for the smaller power iPhone 6S, which has 1,715 mAh battery. It will provide sufficient energy for previous iPhones such as the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S.
To charge, I plugged it at my Retina MacBook Pro at around 7:30 am and it reached a full charge at about twelve o’clock, which is compatible with the approximate four hours charging period listed on the MP for the device. It does not offer Passthru Charging, so it is not possible to charge MIPO and iPhone at the same time through its electric cable.
App
The smart power tube is able to connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth so that the iPhone users allows the users to observe its power level via the MIPO Juice 2 app. Although it seems a great idea on the surface it seemed to me a joke to me.
The app shows the power layers of the iPhone and the power tube, as well as how much standby, talktime and internet usage that equals energy. The design of the app is old and it can be difficult to explain information at a glance. The iPhone battery level is on the left, and the power tube battery is on the right. At the top, there is a number that is a combined battery level between the two.
When the power tube battery is low, when the iPhone moves far from the power tube and when the power tube temperature is too high, the Mipo application will send alert. None of these features were effective for me when I test the device, or not a dedicated feature that allows users to look for a lost power tube.
“Find Me” launches the LED lights on the device, but since there is no word, if it is hidden in a drawer or in a bright room, there is no way to see the light. It has a radar that looks like it is meant to determine the distance, but it does not work for me, but the full side of the power tube is the whole bar and two times.
There were a few more app functions that I was not able to work or did not work well. A tracking feature is supposed to record the point where an iPhone and power tube connection loses, but I cannot record my position even though location service and all alerts are on. A “Ring Me” feature is believed to be on the iPhone, but it didn’t. Interestingly enough, the power tube button controlled the volume of my iPhone when connected via Bluetooth, allowing it to be used as remote to snap the photos.
When the iPhone is removed from the power tube, a warning is the only semi-usable feature because it may remind uses not to forget the power tube (or the iPhone, if the power tube is in a bag itself and the phone itself is behind), that feature I do not seem to be valuable for the lonely battery drain that I do not seem to have a smart tube. It didn’t seem to triggers reliably in my exam, I am waiting until I am out of the Bluetooth range before sending a notification.
For references, the battery monitoring app with the power tube was equivalent to the use of the background use of social media applications for about 12 percent of my phone’s overall battery drain for the past several days. I have used the app with the full ability to enable the app for examination, but the use of the battery that is unable to use location services can be cut off.
The smart power tube can be fully used without applications, which would be the case with my favorite use. The three LEDs on the side show enough information about its battery level and since it always takes the same time to charge and discharge its battery on the iPhone, there is not much need to get details about its power level in the application. I don’t think the connection features are valuable for battery life loss, but people who do not forget the battery life or their power tube want to see more closely in their app may have different opinions.
Bottom line
Since it is 3,000 mAh battery, it is best for the iPhone 6S user and the previous iPhone models. This is not going to be charged in full of an iPhone 6S Plus and it does not provide sufficient power to be suitable for an iPad. For the iPhone 6S Plus or iPad user, I offer a significantly more powerful external battery pack.
For $ 49.95, the price of the smart power tube is paid on the higher, it comes to a beautiful, compact package and has a built -in thunderbolt and USB connector for charging. This is a lot of people to jump when viewing the Apple Store.
The included features will not be valuable for most users when ordinary battery packs can be purchased for half the expenses in Amazon, but some may appreciate the app for convenience, design and with a clear image of the charge level.
Buyers should be aware of the potential downside of power tube, with its odd size that prevents the iPhone comfortably when charging, be careful with electricity cables and eliminate the battery Bluetooth connection and application cause.
