Review: Stella of Ten One Design helps you plug your MacBook in the dark

by red

Ten One Design is known for some useful Mac and iOS products, such as blockheads that change your MacBook Power Adapter Orientation and Mounty+ which converts iPad to a second screen, but this is the new product, Stella MacBook Power Cord, is probably the most attractive of the current company.

Stella is a built -in LED feature that activates an unconscious electrical field next to the electrical reception like a power outlet, as a result, a bright light comes whenever you go to plug it.

The idea behind Stella is to provide some light while trying to plug your cord while dark, which can be acknowledged that most people are unlikely to face regularly.

Stella snaps on a MacBook’s power adapter where the extension cable usually goes away, mainly replaces the standard Apple extension cable (or short prong part). The steella section attached to the power adapter is white and it looks the same with the regular extension cable, so there is no surprise.

The stellar cord is made from a great, flexible bride material that looks great and it is less irrational than the Apple branded extension cable. The wire itself is 1.8 meters long like Apple extension cable.

I don’t use an extension with my MacBook Pro Power Adapter because the USB-C Cable is usually long enough for most places where I have to plug in, so I hope there was an alternative to excess cable for a set of light-ups.

Ten One One designs are responsible for excess cords, though, with a simple bilateral slide out clip that can put the excess wound up in place. There are so many simply that it doesn’t work well in 29W/30W MacBook adapter, but the larger 87 W. MacBook Pro is beautifully arthritis. Since the cord is flexible, it is neatly wounded.

The Stella website says that the cord was designed to keep the 85/87 W. Charger in mind, wrapping them eight times around them. It also works with 61W chargers but you need to fold it around or twice.

The stellar plug part is shaped in such a way that is easy to paint and it comes both blue or aqua. The plug is smaller than the plug of the Apple extension cable and it is two harden instead of three cores. It also takes less space than the MacBook Power Adapter without extension cable, so if you have a lot of plugs in, it is a good way to save outlet real estate.

Steller LED is located just above the two prongs and in my test, it shines reliably every time next to each power outlet, even in the dark room provides adequate light to find the outlet holes.

When it is about one foot away from the outlet, it begins to enlighten, which seems to be an ideal distance. Ten One designs say that this distance can be different, though the outlet depends on the energy of the outlet and the outlet is based on the factors like the elements of the covering.

Stella plugged in to other devices, so you will see it illuminated if it is located on your MacBook, your toaster, your TV or anything else. It needs to be near, though, so I never got to be LED boring.

I am not going to have a problem with Stella failing to enlighten, but ten One designs say that if you put it against a reception, it will always be enlightened, which can be effective in a situation that has low signals in an outlet.

Once the plug is in, the steella’s light goes in a few seconds, so it will not keep it shining in a dark room.

Stella is compatible with all MacBook Charger, 10 W and 12 Way iPad charger and PC laptop charger, although there are several versions for PCs and Mac.

Bottom line

Ten One Design Stella is neat, but it’s something of fancy. For $ 34.95, it is expensive when you simply use flashlight or light switch on your phone.

Stella is unacceptable when you want to plug out your MacBook Cable with lights, but I cannot imagine that this national situation is a regular occurrence for most people.

Apple’s USB-C MacBooks no longer transmits with any extension cable, Apple sells them for 19 to $ 19 instead. Steller price is $ 34.95, which means $ 15.95 premium than what it can get from Apple.

Breakted cable and built -in light will depend on your needs whether it is worth it. If you do a lot of work in the dark or often travel, Stella is probably worth the upgrade, but if you do not run your power adapter on a regular basis, it is probably not suitable for additional expenditures.

Ten One Design says that it is planned to give Stella technology licenses to other manufacturers, so it is possible that we see more useful applications in the future that it is likely to have other types of power adapters, such as light -up effectiveness, for iPhone or iPad.

How to buy

Stella MacBook Power Cord can be purchased from the Ten One Design website for $ 34.95.
