Jaybird X4 Review: Great Earphone without Servering to serve

Confessing: I gave up my ex -husband from Bluetooth, Jaybird’s Own X2, about a year later. They were not wrong. It looked good, was comfortable, and the battery lasted for a long time. But keeping the charged things (with microusb, no less – Yuck) and sorcery connections have become routine. I gave them far and shipped, even a pair of wire buds that are not named. Once I got a pixel 2, I was living the life of Dungel.

After spending a week with Jaybird X4, though, I remember what I was missing. By virtue of being wireless, they are coming from any wired ear headphones to exercise – do not pick up the gym equipment and come out. And most importantly, it looks very great. But these phrases are also correct in Jaybird X3 (and even x2), and this is a kind of topic here.

Design, features, what is in the box

X4 is very similar to x3. They are winged buds connected to a flat cable, where the control unit, battery and microphone are included on the right side. They are looking better than X3, which contains the Silver Jaybird logo on each earphone. Compared, this is more elegant. It comes in three colors: “metal black/flash” (black and yellow), “Alpha metallic/jade” (green and green mint), and “metal/iceberg” (gray and blue) – this storm/ice model exclusively for the best Buy and Jaybird site. The accent appears on all of the ear headphones and not visible during use, but it is an elegant touch. All three colors are handsome.

Control of media and calls is clear and direct, and X4 gets a lot of miles from only three buttons. One of the long button from the operation/stop button installs headphones, and the sound tells you that it is connected and allows you to know the amount of battery that is almost left (pressing the sound switch while the music stops will also give you a battery update). Keeping the highest level, lowering the sound level or again in the playlist, and turning off/turning off Google. Continue to continue the button will lead to the headphone.

X4 is the first Jaybird ear headphone is the IP certified, with the IPX7 classification (previous models were also classified as water resistance, but none of them were officially classified). It is safe in fresh water with a depth of a meter for half an hour. This does not mean that you should swim in it. According to the evidence, you should give a quick rinse if they call the ocean or the pool.

The Jaybird app is a power of return from X3. Its installation will lead to a constant notification mode in your status tape showing the approximation of the remaining battery life of the X4. You can also use it to adjust the ear frequencies response, adjust its lowest levels, media, and actual time heights. There are a number of compact pre -settings, and you can download more other users, but your setting has died simple. Modified sound files actually save to the ear headphones themselves, which means that they are transmitted between the associated devices without any noise.

Jaybird makes it easy to adjust your earphones.

In the box, there are four sets of earphone tips. Two silicon and foam two, in addition to three groups of fins. X4 open fins are a noticeable improvement in the design of previous models honey; It is more flexible and easier to maintain clean with fewer corners and Curling. Obviously, I have two medium ears, because the fins and tips that came pre -installed are perfectly suitable for me. The headphone also comes with a pocket friendly bag to store, and cut off the cable on your shirt if you want to do it for some reason.

Sound quality

I was surprised by the pleasure of the sound quality of the X4. The default setting is somewhat neutral, if just a heavy bass. In general, the sound is rich and tight without great distortion even in high sizes. Music – from strokes to Kanye West to New York Philharmonic – looks excellent, with good details even in crowded recordings. The fees are satisfactory Pop, Clear singing, the dress really wanders, especially if you run it using the accompanying app.

Likewise, the quality of the call exceeded my expectations. The callers looked well and informed that he heard me clearly, although the microphone was hanging on the side of my neck. The movement caused a theft sound that everyone and the callers could hear while the microphone was wandering, so don’t expect a conversation on the walking device (maybe you shouldn’t do it anyway).

If you have to NitPick, the X4S is a little struggling when it comes to the upper frequency tones-it is not prominent. After a point, it seems that moving the high end of the tie is only the bright instead of strengthening the Triple, but this is a simple complaint.

Should you buy it?

Yes, If you are an active person looking for a solid pair of wireless ear headphones. It may not be exciting like some of its fully wireless competitors, but it looks great, it is durable, and with the guaranteed accessories, its suitability is very customized. The work in AirPods.

Jaybird claims that the X4 battery will last eight hours in a charge; From a story, I witnessed a full battery for me during the long training for five hours and two hours of listening at home before I died in the middle of the road during my sixth trip to the gym. (Jaybird was reported about the battery level about six percent only a few seconds before it was given, while Android linked it by 10 percent.) In a slightly more accurate test, I saw the X4 pump six hours and 55 minutes of continuous music at half of the sound. Eight hours look like an extension, but if you only use it in the gym, X4 should get easily within a week of exercises. If you are also listening at home or on a trip, you may need to top the middle of the week. In my experience, they go from scratch to a hundred in less than two hours.

It is a blessing that you will not charge X4 much, because the charger is, with one word, bad. It is a four-inch dongle moving from USB Type-A on one end to the property section on the other hand. It is easy to use – cut and connect it, and this is everything. However, the USB ports have become fully in size less common. In 2018, it is quite reasonable that someone has, for example, the newer MacBook and pixel, and must search for a compatible port for charging X4. Charging your ear headphones using TV or PlayStation is hardly comfortable – so it is used as an adapter. At least with X3, the short cable attached to the clip via microusb. I wanted to see this design updated using USB-C, but there is no dice.

It was not necessary to be this way.

I am also not crazy about the new Cinch for X4. The older Jaybird’s ear headphones had two sections on the wire that allowed you to adjust the length and keep the recession under control. X4 contains only one, and although it is easier to use it, it makes it difficult to get suitable. It also gives you a type of wire horse tail when it is tightly drawn.

If my complaint appears to be specific and unimportant, it is because it is. These things are really good. But then is x3; If you have those who kick, this is not worth the upgrade. If you currently do not have wireless ear headphones, you are doing well to give X4 a look.

Purchase

If you are on the market for high -quality Bluetooth earphones and focuses on sports and do not bother them with ownership connectors or cable linking the two sides together.

Don’t buy it

If the old Jeeppers is still in good condition. Jaybird X4 is great, but there is not much here that X3 does not offer.
