Review: Hyper’s USB chargers pack a lot of energy for international travelers

Several months ago, the accessory company launched a set of three USB charger designed in the traveled in mind of compact designs based on interchangeable charging heads for the Hyper Gan technology and convenient international travel.

I spent some time checking the 70W ($ 59.99) and 100W ($ 89.99) versions on the new hyperjwis charger line and Hyper added more powerful 145W versions ($ 119.99) with family recently. All three of the chargers are currently part of the hyper spring sale, which is 20% sidelined from normal prices.

All three chargers are white or black with fine hyper branding and a pattern of small “+” icons is essentially the same plastic design, which reminds of the largest party company logo to provide some visual and touching interest. Each model indicates when a small LED under the port on the USB of each model indicates when the unit has the strength of the unit, but it is not too distracted in a dark room.

As the watzer grows, the size of the charger grows surprisingly and the 100W and 145W versions include three USB-C port and a USB-A port, the 70 W version scales on two USB-C port and one USB-A port.

Given the watties involved, they have something very good but the 70W model is still fairly light below half pounds. One pound of three quarters of 100W size and weight is a specific step, while the 145W model weighs about one pound.

Even Apple has adopted a gain technology in its high-powerful charger over the past few years, the third party solution does not always provide a lot of size or weight saving, and here it is here. The Hyper’s 70W model is 30-40% larger and heavier than Apple’s corresponding charger, while the 145W model of Hyper is about 20% larger and 50% heavier than Apple’s 140W charger, but the distribution of the hyper against Apple’s charger is certainly an important travel.

Although these chargers I haven’t seen the most compact for their watts, they are reasonably made for size and hard travel companions. They come up with a princestol with a bilateral US-style type charging head, which makes them great to toss them in a bag.

However, for those who need other options for plugging on the charger, the hyper box provides these rights. The European-style type C, UK-style type G, and Australian-style type eye charging heads are included and the charger can be transmitted within a few seconds for the speed-release button. These head prongs are not folding because they are in the US charging head, but it is not uncommon for US design to fold the design processes are not most suitable.

I have not yet got the chance to travel internationally with these chargers, but I appreciate the inclusion of exchangeable charging heads so the next time I need to go abroad, I will have everything I need because this set of adapters provides effectiveness in more than 150 countries.

Beyond the international charging heads, there is a C8 head, allowing you to attach a power cable (sell $ 5.99 or you can supply yourself) If you prefer to use the charger on a desktop, you cannot plug the charger directly where you need some extra wire length.

All three chargers are intelligent energy distribution features, based on which is connected, allocate energy to each device dynamically. For example, in the 70W model, the USB-C supports up to 70 watts of charging power in the USB-C port when the port supports up to 18 watts, but as multiple devices are connected, the total 70w output of the charger will be divided into different ports.

In the 100W model, the top two USB-C ports are able to supply the entire 100 watts when used alone, while the third USB-C port supports up to 27 watts and the port provides the port 18 watt. And in the largest 145W model, the top two USB-C ports can supply 140 watt with the third USB-C port with up to 45 watt and the Port on USB again outs the maximum at 18 watt.

Each of this charger, including three or four ports, is obviously different combinations of ports and the distribution of watts varies for each scene, but the 70W model uses both USB-C port at the same time divided into 45 watt C1 and 25 watt port C2. A device added to the USB-A Port is 35 watts for C1, 20 watts for C2 and 12 watts for the USB-A port.

In the end, which device you choose to choose will probably depend on which devices and how many of them are planning to give them. For example, if you are a MacBook Air user, the 70W model may be enough for you, because Apple only provides a 30-watt or 35-watt adapter to the box with those machines so you can charge your Mac via the C1 port on the hyper charger and still have some energy for the iPad, Apple Watch or other devices. However if you want to charge a lot of devices at a relatively fast speed you want to take steps in one of the higher watties models.
