HP Chromebook X360 14 G1 is expensive, loving, and joyful for use

Premium Chromebooks is a specialized product category; Most Chromebook books in any price range can do all the same things themselves. The difference comes in the extent to which a specific device is dealt with with those-and-Win while the HP X360 14 G1 is already against the advanced OS Chrome in principle, but it is a very qualified laptop worth searching for anyone interested in the quality of the Chrome device.

Design and devices

The G1 is explicitly designed to work, and its design reflects the following: It is handsome, but it is not remarkable in particular (one person I offered to say “Yes, this is a good computer”). Due to how the office is used, it is not unreasonable that HP wants to keep the low design, but I would have appreciated more pant a bit. The thing is definitely Feel Premium, though; It is mainly envelope in aluminum (the bottom of the plastic), and a little more than three and a half pounds, it gets a good weight without feeling huge.

This is not the most elegant tablet you will use at all.

It is a convertible pattern, so that it can be used as an ordinary laptop OL, or with the screen folds back to serve as a fax of a tablet. The logical basis for this function in the laptop is to work that it can be supported in the formation of a tent to present improvised presentations, or folded in a tablet to review and sign documents. It is difficult to know when you click on it unless you look at the screen.

HP says that G1 meets the MIL-STD 810g standards for durability, which means that it is likely that the medium laptop is to survive, dust and moisture. Unlike IP classifications, there is no formal certificates to comply here, and the possibility of a computer in work in the sand appears to be low. However, any guarantee that expensive electronics are not sensitive.

The keyboard and tracking plate

The rear keyboard on the G1 may be the best painting you have ever used in the Chromebook, if not any laptop. The keys are a click and fast response, and provide sufficient resistance before making room for luxury travel. People often sing praise the keyboard in Pixelbook, but for me, these worlds are better; I do not have reservations about writing for hours at one time. I wanted to see a custom Google assistant key, but with an auxiliary jobs to the search bar in the application drawer, his absence is a very simple complaint.

Likewise, I have a little complaint about the tracking plate. It is great enough and great accurate, and has never failed to register my kinds or gestures. It provides a comfortable fabric of resistance against a sliding finger. It is plastic, and it is a little problem. At this point price, Glass was nice.

Voice and display speakers

HP is proud of its partnership with Bang & OlufSen.

HP makes tasks around Pang Wolovsen speakers in G1, which is very due, they seem better than speakers in most laptops, which produces loud and clear sound without great distortion. The screen does not become almost bright as I would like.

Moreover, the screen is not compatible with the active style like Pixelbook Pen. The amazing screen appears to be at odds with the alleged chromebook durability higher than average-it is unlikely to face a lot of dust or moisture if you never use the thing outside.

Performance and battery life

Fortunately, you can’t order much better than the Chromebook more than you reach. Over two weeks of using the device daily, I did not face one hiccup. It is more responsive than Pixelbook, which, although it is equipped with the same, has an Intel processor of the previous generation.

Core i5 of the eighth generation in my review model is more than one capable of dealing with any number of tasks that you may want to achieve on the Chromebook, and eight GB of RAM; When seeing the number of tabs that took it to reduce it, I stumbled out before Chromebook. If you are really worried about dispensing the future, you can escalate things to the primary i7 and 16 random access memory-but I think the Core I3 variable for beginners will have more than enough power to be viable for several years.

The battery life is likely impressive. I have never been able to kill the G1 in one day (this is possible, but I pity anyone who does the type of work it requires). I constantly pressed about 12 hours of life outside the device between the drawings, which, for me, is more than enough.

Should you buy one?

maybe. At this stage, you already know whether the Chromebook is suitable for your needs. If you are big in computer games or video editing, it is clear that this is not the device for you. If, like me, you can do your work on OS Chrome, although it is a convincing package.

Despite the Quibbles with its screen, I hadn’t thought about using HP Chromebook X360 14 G1 as my only computer. Wonderful performance, the battery life is great, and the keyboard will make you hate writing on other Chromebook books. If you are looking for a large and distinctive OS Chrome to use it inside, this will put a lot of your boxes.

Frankly, it is expensive, with the start of MSRP slightly over $ 1,000, and climbing more than $ 1,400 for the i5 that you tested. Even for me, the excellent Evangelist, this is very much – especially given how Pixelbook has disappeared recently.

You can currently order the HP G1 Direct for $ 626.43 for the basic model, or $ 796.29 for the Beefier version I was using. These prices are more fair, but HP expects it will not be charged until late May. If you are ready to wait, you are likely not to be disappointed, but I cannot recommend diving at a full price. If the i3 tickles your imagination, think about X360 14; With the exception of color and mil-std 810G, they are very similar and much lower.

• You want a large, fast and distinctive Chromebook book.

• You can get it with a discount.

• You do not work outdoors often.

Do not buy if:

• You should pay MSRP.

• You need something to be shown in bright environments.

• You love the i3. The G1 version is almost identical and largely cheaper.
