Should you buy it?
The first “smart screens” was released house Nest Hub. They are all 7 to 10 inches, with improved functions on loudspeakers only. They can display video news, put two video calls, show video news, bring safety camera extracts, play Youtube videos, and more.
But what if you want something younger? Amazon’s Echo Spot was released in late 2017, and the Echo show was announced five inches, but not everyone likes to use Alexa. Lenovo introduced a smart watch in CES earlier this year, and now you can buy one … but you may not have it.

The Lenovo smart watch is covered with fabric, and it will not occupy a large space on your bed. |

Design, devices, what is in the box
The smart watch design is not like a lot of the larger smart screen in Lenovo. It is a small device, approximately half of the physical fingerprint of the Google Nest Hub or 7 “Lenovo, completely covered with soft, smooth materials.
The front screen is an IPS 480 x 800 size 480 x 800, with one circumference light sensor at the top and two field microphones. Just like your phone, the screen changes the brightness depending on the level of the room light. I have no complaints about the screen, but it emanates from a faded glow when it is in a completely dark room, because it is not the AMOLED panel.
The upper part of the watch contains volume buttons and a sensor to detect the taps. When the alarm explodes, you can click on the top of the watch either to divide or stop the alarm. The back contains energy insertion, a USB A.B port, and a sound mutation key. The USB port is dedicated to charging your phone (or anything else that can receive energy through USB), so you do not need an additional energy cable that works behind your bed.
As for sound, the inner loudspeaker is a 33 mm driver with two negative radiators. For comparison, Home Mini has a 40 mm driver. The sound quality looks slightly worse than Home Mini, where most music looks very plate. Podcast, news surroundings, and other types of audio content appear only.
In general, I like Lenovo’s smart design and devices. It gives it a unique sense of fabric and design, and the screen is large enough to read the text clearly and manage controls. However, the absence of a backup battery is somewhat confusing, because it means that your phone will remain a better warning than the designated hour $ 80 an hour. The integrated speaker is not better than the speaker on Google Home Mini worth $ 30.
In the box, you get the watch, the energy cable, and some guides of the instructions.
programming
Although the Lenovo Smart watch has the same Things Android operating system as the normal smart show, it has no jobs like Google Nest Hub or other similar products. Video clips (not even video news) can not be played, call people to the two, or guide you through recipes. You can see safety cameras, but only if they are a nest cameras – The support of third -party cameras is supposed to come soon. Interestingly, the watch can make phone calls, but not to relate to anyone on the two.
The best way to describe the smart watch is that it is Google Home Mini with limited visual reactions. Some information can be displayed on the screen, such as weather forecast and upcoming calendar events, but it lacks most exclusive smart features. The only time I finished finding the screen is already useful is to control the operation of the media or the alarm management.
The interface is similar to what you get actual, but more intense and limited. Passing down from the top of the screen only gives you the lights controls in any room around the clock, not the home display dashboard that allows you to access all your smart home appliances. The scrolling is opened up from the bottom of the quick access to the volume, brightness, and it does not disturb. The scrolling on the home screen shows your warnings, and the passes show you the weather.
Leave: Lenovo smart watch; right: Google Nest Hub
The main screen displays the current time, along with a message at the bottom of any upcoming warnings. You can click on the screen to change the clock design, although most patterns are the same patterns you get on other categorical screens. Dadishly, there is no option to display photos from Google photos on the home screen, which was one of the main sales points for regular smart screens.
It is very easy to create warnings – You can ask the assistant to do this for you, or you can do it yourself from the warning screen. You can set some warnings to go only on certain days of the week, change the alarm tone, or make it start the morning assistant routine. There is also a feature called “Sunrise Alarm”, which gradually lights the screen before the alarm explodes. The top of the watch click on alarm by default, but you can change it to stop the alarm instead.
As we mentioned earlier, this can do all that Google Home Mini can do, answer music, answer general knowledge questions, create evaluation dates, play news, etc. The watch also appears on your network as a smart speaker, so that you can throw an audio content on it and put it in a collection with other devices that support it.
Should you buy it?
Maybe not. The Lenovo Smart watch is not a bad product, but there is a good amount of lost features and artificial restrictions compared to actual auxiliary smart shows. Do not use the screen for the number of others other than the current time, so there is hardly no added tool on Google Home Mini. The lack of a backup battery is also confusing, and this means that your phone will be a more reliable stimulant than the smart watch.
If the Lenovo Smart watch is the closest price to a small house, I will not mind these restrictions as much. Google Nest is frequently decreases to less than $ 100 (even less than an hour price several times), so for more money, you can get a smart offer with more jobs and a much better screen. Live competition around the clock is much more convincing – The new Echo Show size is similar to Amazon and costs $ 10 more than the Lenovo Smart watch, but it has each feature of large Alexa screens.
At the current price of $ 79.99, I can not really recommend the Lenovo smart watch. I have no doubt that this will be at the end for sale, but for the time being, most people will be better off than buying Google Home Mini.
Purchase it if:
-
Do you really want a smart speaker with a screen … because otherwise why don’t you buy regular smart screens?
-
You have a nest camera and you want to check this from your bed.
-
You don’t already have a small house or another smart speaker.
Do not buy it if:
-
You are accustomed to the features of the larger Smart Assistant screens.
-
You want a warning with a battery backup.
-
You already have a Google Assistant speaker.
