Wireless cameras had a great impact on how we could monitor our homes, property and our loved ones. Modern systems are packed with easy to install, and the field is still sufficiently new so that we are witnessing real improvements from generation generation. Earlier this year, ARLO launched a 4K option in the form of its super camels, and now we are getting a new input in the Pro series with the ARLO Pro 3 version. The THE Pro 2 was already a great wireless camera, with a resolution of 1080 pixels, the battery life to weeks, and a free cloud storage for 7 days. Now Pro 3 Out to try her predecessor, it offers a new 2K accuracy, integrated lights, a wide angle and more. But for all these changes, does Pro3 ultimately offer a better user experience? Let’s check this.

The ARLO was very close to the charging lizard on Pro 3, but the property cable is a step in the wrong direction. |
Design, devices, what is in the box
Arlo Pro 3 goes with the same basic design as Ultra, compared to the Pro 2, this is a great improvement. Instead of giving us another camera body full of joints, buttons and paintings, Pro 3 connects its devices in a well -protected elegant shell. The camera body comes out of the frame to reach the battery, but it is usually comfortably placed in place with a brutal to keep all the forces of nature in the Gulf.

ARLO includes a pair of installation options for the camera you have examined. The standard magnetic mountain gets a upgrade this year, moving from convex to concave design. This gives you more freedom to prepare the viewing angle, but mostly the cameras themselves help you feel more complete. We also get a pole mountain, which works great when installing Pro 3 on the ceiling.
Although the electrode composition is safer, the magnetic mountain is easily installed with one screw.
My only real complaint with the new appearance is that shipping is now done using a special magnetic cable. I certainly do not miss the rubber flap that covers the Pro 2 Port, but although it is more powerful, this appears to be able to lose (it is replaced). The new camera design also seems to be perfect to allow you to get out of the camera from its frame to charge it, not to be forced to re -configure the viewing angles later. Unfortunately, you still have to pull everything down, as the magnetic adapter only works with the existing shell.
Just make sure to keep the royal magnetic charging adapter in a safe place.
The big news of the Pro 3 camera devices is the transition to 2K: 2560 x 1440. We also see that the viewing angles expand from 130 to 160 degrees, and the previous night visibility of the B&W IR only joins an option for a full color thanks to the presence of LED lights. We will talk about the quality of the image and play it in one moment.
The Arlo Base (official Smarthub “) is completely different this year, as one of the USB external storage outlets (still gets one), and provides fewer LED lights. It is possible that the most important step there is that the system sirens are transmitted from within the same main station to being part of each PRO Pro 3 camera.
It is still a more simplified center that provides USB support for external storage, but it drops sirens.
Video and application features
Well, you have already pushed to 2K: It seems that the video with the Pro 3 looks great. It is not enough to make me go and withdraw the current PRO 2 cameras, but it is definitely a welcome improvement. The widespread corner photography, although it is not exactly wide as in Ultra, is one of the great origins, and you can always tighten the field of vision if you do not need to get all angles. There is even an optional automatic tracking mode that enlarges digitally to follow the procedure, although I prefer to keep the entire scene in the show.
LED lights help highly light night lighting in the video in full colors.
Movement detection works well, and can be largely configured with specialized allergy options and areas. If you actually want videos of all the squares that work around your courtyard (homosexual), Pro 3 is happy to comply, or it can be easily set to find only more fundamental movement.
When talking about it, advanced features such as a person, animal, cars and beams are available, which helps to organize movement events that need your attention. Unfortunately, all of this is only part of the ARLO smart subscription service, although you get a free three -month experience.
Camera overview, smart alert settings and videos classified by type (from left to right)
This is also the only way to get the Pro -3 cloud storage, which falls free storage for 7 days from the Pro 2. Frankly, this is to violate an absolute deal for me personally, and with the cost of ARO devices, this looks like a nickel and material. We are not talking much about storage, either: the average boycott that is running on the movement during a period of 7 days is less than 1 GB per camera. It should be a $ 200 camera capable of coming with GB of GB of Cloud Storage.
This may be a lower problem if ARLO HUB external storage is worth a curse, but there is no way to see these recordings from the application itself; You should physically transfer a USB device to a computer to view it. Even the $ 20 deals, Wyze Cam allows you to storage the local MicroSD through the application. This seems less like artistic registration and more step to generate subscribers to ARLO Smart. Either way, half of the baked and make me cross.
The ARLO app has not changed itself as a ton since it got to know it with the Pro 2, with a variety of options that can be divued, and support the basic rule – the movement on a camera can start registration. Although it is familiar and practical, some of the same problems I have seen before remaining, such as long delay when handwriting with cameras to obtain live views, and the transverse recording.

Arlo Pro 3
maybe. Pro 3 Camera Hardware is an undeniable improvement on the Pro 2, and while I feel that Arlo did not go far enough in some areas, and I have lost some opportunities to make things better, I am very satisfied with the general direction. But although the Pro 2 was a great investment, to get any kind of reasonable operations from the Pro 3, you will need to pay between $ 70 and $ 120 a year for Arlo Smart and its cloud connection. ARLO always meets the shoppers who are ready to spend the upper dollar, and this role is no longer another.
If the price is not an object, you should be very happy with ARLO Pro 3. The package system that is reviewed here is listed for $ 500, with additional cameras at $ 200 for pop (although it is easy to save package offers). But if you prefer not to worry about the ongoing service fees, there are many other options there, which is good like any time to pick up Pro 2 at a cheap price.
