Wyze Band Review: One of the decisive defects destroys promising fitness

Wyze started as a Simple Smart home products maker that worked well at reasonable prices, but the company started to expand quickly. The Wyze band looks just like all the physical fitness that can be worn over the past five years, although this is not necessarily bad. The AMOLED screen looks great, with deep black and decent colors, although there is no automatic brightness option.

On the back of the device, there are Poggo pins for the charger and a heart rate sensor. Alexa’s support is the most interesting aspect of Wyze. Once you connect your Amazon account in the Wyze app, sticking to the bottom button opens the assistant. You can set reminders and ask general knowledge questions and control any smart home appliances you connected to Alexa. It is very great to see a virtual auxiliary scale costing only $ 25, although there are problems in the main communication – more about it later.

Software, performance and battery

The process of preparing for the Wyze band is incredibly painful. Install the Wyze app on your phone (available for Android and iOS), select “Add a product” from the FOUDLOW list, choose the band, and follow the guidelines that appear on the screen. After about one minute, I finished. There is also no factory reset process for a long time if you want to switch phones, and this is not the case at all with Wear OS devices or Galaxy Samsung watches.

After the initial preparation is complete, the band’s dashboard is organized in the same way as the band. If you want to check health data, scroll down to the health screen. Although this is not the most easy design that I saw from an accompanying application that can be worn, there are many settings that must be searched for. You can change the look of the watch (until downloading your background image), arranging the screens, types of notifications that appear, etc. In this regard, the Wyze band is approaching a traditional smart watch of a healthy follower of $ 25.

However, there is one huge hunting to use Wyze Band: All features that require a direct data connection with your phone that does not work unless the Wyze app is open in the background of your phone. Once the Wyze application is criticized from the Recents screen on Android (or the application on iOS), Alexa and Notifications completely stop. Maybe not. If all you want is a simple and simple device to track steps, the Wyze band can definitely do this. However, the main selling point of the product – the ability to control smart home appliances and use Alexa orders – do not work unless you are surely confirmed that the Wyze app is still open in the background of your phone. There is no other platform that can be worn in this way, and it makes an incredibly frustrated experience.

Wyze Band is in a unique position because it is the only healthy follower in the $ 50 price range which is not a simple product in white brands. In the United States, the only real options in this price range are to buy Mi Band 4 or Honor Band 5.
