The SwitchBot Lock Pro is officially on sale for $120, but it comes with a $20 launch offer. That’s certainly a reasonable price, considering the door sensor is also included in the box. However, the lock only comes with Bluetooth connectivity and requires an optional hub to connect to the internet, which costs an additional $30.
The additional touch-sensitive keypad makes accessing the home easier, allowing for fingerprint and code access, but it also comes as an add-on for $50. You can also buy the full package, which costs $200. It currently comes with a $40 discount, bringing the price down to just $160 for the lock, hub, and keypad.
Additionally, there is no paid subscription required to use the lock.
What are the good features of SwitchBot Smart Lock Pro?
Widely compatible, reliable and intuitive
The SwitchBot Lock Pro stands out from its competitors not only for its affordability but also for its adaptability. It’s compatible with most types of locks used in North America (as well as Europe), including single-lever, rim cylinder, and hinge locks. It also comes with plenty of accessories to ensure the perfect fit for your lock, including optional 3D printing services.
The lock is made of aluminum and magnesium, giving it a sturdy feel and premium look. The SwitchBot Lock Pro is also easy to install, thanks to the mounting bracket that is attached to the latch mechanism, ensuring it stays securely in place. The package also includes a door sensor, which can be placed on the door frame to detect the status of the door and even lock it automatically.
Once set up, you can continue to use your keys by turning the physical lock handle or use it more intuitively using the button or your smartphone. The app offers plenty of customization options, such as automatically locking the door when it’s closed, activating night lock features, or customizing alerts and notifications.
Additionally, you can pair the lock with a SwitchBot hub to connect the lock to the internet and access it remotely. You can easily unlock your door remotely when you’re not home, which is handy if you need to let someone in while you’re away. What’s bad about SwitchBot Smart Lock Pro?

In fact, while it’s a fully functional product when purchased separately, it only offers automatic door locking and Bluetooth unlocking. It requires the optional touch keypad and hub to be truly convenient, which adds a bit of cost. However, SwitchBot sells these products as a bundle without adding much to the price.
Beyond that, there’s not much to complain about the SwitchBot Smart Lock Pro. However, I have to admit that its design is relatively bulky, just like the SwitchBot Smart Lock, making it quite visible behind the door. Its thickness may also mean that it can bump into a wall, depending on your handle.
