Satechi FindAll Review: Rechargeable AirTag Alternative with Find My Support

by red

Satechi offers a number of accessories that include Find My integration, all of which have a more convenient form factor than AirTag or expanded versatility. The Satechi FindAll range includes a passport cover, glass case, luggage tag, card and keychain, some of which I’ve been testing over the past few months.

The entire range is made from a vegan leather material that is pleasant to the touch and durable and colors include black, sand and desert rose. Prices range from $30 to $60, and Satechi often has sales.

Find all glasses cases

The $50 FindAll Glasses case has a triangle shape that should fit most eyeglass and sunglass options, though I think it might struggle to fit some sunglasses with wider lenses. It opens fully for access to glasses and then folds in thirds with a magnetic flap to seal it.

Size-wise, it’s not exactly a compact case. I wouldn’t want to carry it in a small purse or backpack, but it fits well in a large bag. It’s rigid, so it still protects the glasses even when thrown in a bag with a bunch of other items. The case is 6.4 inches long, 2.7 inches wide and 2.6 inches tall. When it’s not in use, you can fold it flat.

I have the black version and it doesn’t seem to show fingerprints or wear even after months of use. Lighter colors can be easier to stain, but the vegan leather Satechi is using seems durable.

I like the idea of a glasses case with ‘Find My’, but it seems only useful for a person with a lot of discipline. If I lose my sunglasses, it’s because I don’t put them back in the case, not because I misplaced the case.

I’ve never been good about returning my glasses to their case, but if I were, I’m not sure I’d lose the case. I usually have the case in my bag or somewhere in my house, so it’s not the only item I tend to lose. With that technically out of the way, this is a useful case. It offers solid protection and can be useful if you travel often or tend to swap glasses and keep them in one case while wearing the other. Those who do may have a greater tendency to place the case at random.

Satechi says the case is compatible with VITURE Pro XR glasses, XReal Air 2, and Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, and makes sense to use with them.

There is a circle on the back of the case to indicate where the magnetic charging ring is located. It’s capable of charging via MagSafe or Qi, and it only needs charging every eight months or so There’s a small LED that comes on when it’s connected to the charger, so you can tell when it’s done.

Find My has all the same capabilities as any Find My device, including alerts, sound options, and more, but I’ll talk more about that below.

Find all luggage tags

The $45 FindAll Luggage Tag is a clever combination of a luggage tag and an AirTag If it didn’t say ‘Find My’ inside the tag, I’m not sure anyone would see it as anything other than a simple luggage tag. It is 3.3 inches long and 2.9 inches wide.

It’s basically a circle-shaped tag with an opening in the front that includes a piece of paper where you can write your information. An adjustable strap with three holes can attach to your luggage or a bag, and it charges via Qi or MagSafe, just like the glasses case.

I love the premium look and feel of FindAll luggage tags. I generally think it’s probably safer to keep a tracker inside a suitcase, but because of the buckle, it’s not going to come off or come loose without effort.

The vegan leather material feels sturdy and is well stitched. I pulled it as hard as I could and also picked up a fully packed suitcase by tag and so far no damage. The flip-down front that holds your personal information is great, but I wish the plastic cover on the inside came up a little higher.

I’m always worried about the tag on an item getting wet or damaged in some way. The FindAll luggage tag has partial protection for the paper inside and the magnet closes tightly, but I’m still a bit concerned about water ingress.

Find all cards

The $35 FindAll Card is a card-shaped ‘Find My’ device to stick inside a wallet. There are many such ‘find my’ wallet devices available now, including some that are super cheap on Amazon, but I like the peace of mind of getting something from a reputable brand.

Satechi Findall cardSatechi Findall card
Satechi’s version is the size of a credit card (3.35 inches tall and 2.13 inches wide), and fits in the credit card section of any wallet. It’s 0.09 inches thick, which isn’t the thinnest card I’ve tested, but it’s also not the thickest. Satechi designed it with beveled edges and that helps it look and feel thinner than it is

The card comes in black, beige and pink colors and an option other than black is available. I tested black, and the glossy material it’s made from is shiny and smooth to the touch, but it’s going to pick up fingerprints. I love the smooth texture because it easily slips into a wallet, plus it’s IP66 water resistant so if your wallet falls out of your pocket and into a puddle, it’ll still be detectable.

The FindAll card is nondescript and has a small Satechi logo on the front If someone stole your wallet, it might be mistaken for a keycard, but a smart thief would probably know what it is.

I like card-style item trackers because you can stick them in between other things. I keep one in my planner so I don’t misplace it, and they also work on books, sunglass cases, laptop cases, my Steam Deck case, and other slimmer, flatter items where an AirTag isn’t the best option.

The FindAll Card charges via MagSafe or Qi, which is convenient. I haven’t had to recharge it yet, but Satechi says it lasts up to 16 months before needing a recharge. I think it’s got the longest battery life of any card I’ve tested so far.

Find all keychains

Satechi’s $30 FindAll Keychain is one of my favorite keychain-style Find My items. It’s bigger than an ‌AirTag, with a square shape (1.3 inches square), but it also has an integrated battery and a keyring at the top so I can attach it to anything without getting an extra accessory.

Satechi KeychainSatechi Keychain
I love the soft-touch vegan leather material in this form factor, and it’s lightweight at 14.3 grams even with the metal keyring. The leather material feels sturdy, so even though the keyring has a loop of material holding the keychain, it doesn’t seem to fall apart.

Satchi Keychain 2Satchi Keychain 2
Like the rest of the Satechi FindAll line, the FindAll Keychain can be popped into a Qi or ‍MagSafe–charger when the battery runs out, and that’s a huge advantage over the AirTags. I’m bad at ordering new AirTag batteries and swapping them out when they die, and rechargeable batteries are much more convenient. Satechi says the battery can last up to 12 months without needing to be recharged.

Find my integrations

Satechi’s FindAll devices can be added to the Find My app’s Items tab, so you can track them alongside AirTags and your other Apple devices.

Satchi products almost Similar to AirTag in terms of functionality, but no accuracy found. Ultra Wideband (UWB) is required for accurate scanning and these do not support it. This makes a big difference when you want something you can accurately locate indoors, but less of a difference for long-range tracking.

If you’ve lost your keys indoors and need to find them often, the option to play a sound helps, but the ability to go straight to them in short distances with precision searching is overwhelming. FindAll accessories are limited to Bluetooth 5.4, which is not specific.

Satechi says it has a Bluetooth range of 10 to 20 meters when indoors, and 20 to 50 meters when outdoors. When you are out of Bluetooth range, you can use ‘Find My’ network.

FindAll devices connect to the same Find My network as AirTag, allowing you to leverage other people’s owned Apple products to track your items over long distances. As long as Find My Item has an Apple device with cellular or Wi-Fi, it can relay its location to you.

There is a built-in Play A Sound feature and all of Satechi’s products are listed in the 80 to 90 decibel range. If you’re in the same room and it’s buried in a bag or wallet, it’s loud enough to be heard indoors. It was a little difficult outside with the ott ambient noise, but between Bluetooth range and noise, I was able to find the keychain after dropping it in the woods.

Outside, the Find My app can get me close enough to the FindAll device where it’s located to hear a sound, but it’s not tangled up in the fabric of a bag or something similar.

Item left behind notification is also available, and is one of the most useful features of a Find My device or AirTag. You can get a notification when you move your item out of range, which immediately alerts you if you’ve left your keys, wallet, bag or anything else connected to one of Satechi’s FindAll devices.

You can also share item locations with other people, so if your luggage goes missing at the airport, you can give an airline employee access to the FindAll device to track it. Similarly, you can share location with family members and set it up to provide your name and information if someone else has an item you’ve lost.

bottom line

Satechi’s FindAll series is an upgrade over the AirTag with a different form factor and the option to recharge via MagSafe or Qi, but lacks precision finding. For something you might lose indoors or close to hard-to-hear noise, an AirTag might be worth choosing for access to precision finding, but for general tracking and items behind notifications, Satechi’s trackers are great.

I’ve been using a few Find My Items without Precision Finding for several years now, and I’ve never missed it. For example, I have a ‘Find My’ card in my wallet and I always find the item behind the notification and can accurately track its location when I leave it behind. Basically, Bluetooth tracking will bring you to the house where an item is, but Precision Search can help you pinpoint where it is indoors as long as you’re close enough. Sometimes that functionality can be replaced with words, and sometimes it can’t.

Satechi FindAll devices have been with me for about six months and I have not had any problems with them The battery didn’t die, notifications were reliable, and I was able to check them multiple times. I’ve seen some item trackers that die months after purchase or stop working in some capacity, but so far, Satechi’s products are performing well.

In terms of price, some of Satechi’s products are more expensive than the ‌AirTag‌ (which is $29), but there are frequent discounts that drop the price of items like keychains below the price of the ‌AirTag‌.
