ROWKIN Ascent Chage+ Review: At reason

If you overlook the 2018 winter sound guide (and you should – good things there), you will notice an unfortunate direction. With a few exceptions, it appears that manufacturers of shy wireless sound tools about the dependence of USB Type-C charging. So you are excited to get the Rowkin Ascent shipment: it’s fully wireless earphones whose case is decorated not only with the increasingly USB-C, but also the Qi wireless charging. After using the buds for a few weeks, I love them a lot, but some defects prevent me from their love.

Design, features, what is in the box

Rocin ear headphones come in three varieties, but the buds themselves are similar. They are incompatible cylinders, weighing less than a quarter of an ounce. Rocken says they are “the smallest real sporty wireless earphones Bluetooth 5.0, a type of meaningless discrimination. It is really small, though, at 15.5 x 23.5 mm only, and its lightness means that it does not distract your attention in your ears.

Shipping+ also pies a wireless charging panel in the box. Not any of the styles includes a plug on the wall, which is a little annoying, but it comes with the USB-C-TO-UsB-C cable and a full-size USB converter, so you can use one of the fifty shipments that you have already. There are three sets of listed silicone tips. For me, the pre -innovative medium size fits comfortably so enough that I never thought they would fall while listening or practicing fixed sport, but I don’t know that I trust them in staying in place if I run outdoors.

Each bud includes a “deadly diaphragm driver” and a 60 mAh battery, and there is a touch pad on each of them to control all regular audio works such as Play/Pause Tracks. Touch control tools are not performed well; Do not feel enough sensitivity, and often fail to record the required dual and trio. It is the IPX5 classification, which means that they should survive for sweat or rain.

The length of the shipping condition is four inches and a half of the flat cylinder. One end includes a USB-C charging port, four LED lights to refer to the box battery level, and a leather belt. (I am not completely sure of what the tape is; one of the marketing images shows that it is connected to Carabiner, but this seems to be a specialized use.) You can also use the situation to charge other devices such as smartphones, which is an elegant feature.

You can pull the shipping box open horizontally to detect the buds inside. The procedure is not particularly satisfied – there is a lot of resistance to start dismantling half, so it is difficult not to open it every time. This issue is not terrible, however, its long round shape means that it is easily proportional to all pockets.

He works, but he feels really cheap; It is a feather light, and there is a noticeable tender if you press its surface. There is also an annoying bright LED, and it is always at the forefront. This looks unnecessary, as LED lights illuminate the case while filled and survival while they are not, and make them not suitable for use on a bedside position.

Rockeen has an application to complete his earphones, but there is not much for that. Like Jaybird’s Companion, the battery level will show you both earphones, and you can use it to customize their EQ settings. Unlike the Jaybird app, though, the customization in the ROWKIN program is limited to a handful of pre -settings such as “Rock” and “Bass Booster”, and the differences between them appear very hidden, I wonder if they are doing anything at all. One of the elegant features is that you can use the application to know where you almost used your buds – it will not help you locate in your sofa pillows, but you will be able to know if you have left it in your office or gym.

“Find My Rowkin” feature is not photographed, because it is just a list of frequent titles and a home location on the map.

Sound quality

With the exception, the sound offered by Rochein’s ascension is amazing. The rises, the middle and the decrease are accurately, and there is more brightness than I expected; In some tracks, you can actually feel the brightness in your ear. All you listened to – rock music, popular, hip -hop, pop music, jazz, called what you want – the way that, with its highest bright levels and deep declines. The validity of phone calls was another unexpected force. The callers said they could hear me more or less, and they were also able to do so if I was not using earphones at all.

The only disadvantage that I can choose is that there is a kind of longing in some high medium tones; It is at its worst in the gag and some singing. It is not terrible prominent, but it is one of those deals that once they hear, you cannot cancel it, and it really ignores a great listening experience otherwise. But you may not notice this unless you are listening to it.

Should you buy it?

maybe. There are a lot of high points about Rocken’s rise: it’s small, comfortable, and looks great (mostly), which is properly their price. It is also the heroes of the connection power, while maintaining a strong contact with my phone across the walls and across great distances. But this just likes it makes its lowest levels more frustrated.

Aside from simple distortion in some tones, pairing can be pain; I always had to take out the buds and return again before I could take out the sound from it after contacting a new device. They are strange about Chrome OS, too – on my Pixelbook, I couldn’t set the sound level.

The battery life is not excellent. The climb is classified for three and a half hours from the operating time, but in half the size, I was given to me in three on the nose. The charging box can fill the extravagance about 15 times, making it for 45 hours of listening without connecting it (or falling on the Qi plate), which reduces the battery fears to some extent.

USB-C is mandatory on any device that I buy at this stage, and it is great to be the climb. Cute wireless charging also, but for me, the value you add is not worth jumping from the lowest small ascension – which, in writing this report, sells $ 89.99 – to the start price of $ 109.99.

Buy if:

• You really want to wireless ear headphones with Qi charging.

• You do not care about wireless charging. Save some money and go to Micro instead.

• You are perfect around your devices – consider Master and Dynamic MW07 (although they have no wireless charging as well).
