Joyberd recently launched this run for the line of runners and fitness enthusiasts, which is now the first wire-free headphones designed to compete with wire-free headphones in the market like Apple’s airpods.
I went with the run to see how they compared with other Joybird products like Airpods and New Freedom 2 headphones, at the same time. There is no need to deny the convenience of the wire -free earbud, but as I learned the run, there are still Angks that need to work with technology.
Design
Like Apple’s Airpods, Jaybird Run headphones are the separate standalone earbuds that have no wire connecting them to one another, for a freer, hasle-free listening experience. According to the design, the run headphones look like a bragie dash than the airpods, attached to an in-ear tip with an ear tip with a circular earbod, which nests on the outer part of the ear.
A soft silicone tip fits on top of the speaker’s part of the run, while a soft, extremely flexible fin protects it in the ear. White aluminum-rimed buttons are at the top of the earbods, with the Joyberd Logo, each with embossed and index lights has small green LEDs.
Joyberd run headphones are noticeably heavier than the airpods and the cause of bulkia is because all the ingredients sit in the ears without a prolonged body. According to size, they are a little more at the dense points and depending on the structure of your ear, they can stop something very well.
Designed to allow users to fit the optimal, a selection of interviewable tips and fins ships with run. All wings are made from the same super soft flexible silicone material, which looks good with the ear. The tips are made from a thin, malable silicon, no foam option is available.
In contrast to the airpods, run headphones look like the standard earned of your ear and do not attract as much attention, though they are noticeable due to size. They are water resistant and capable of holding up to sweat and rain exposure. I didn’t reveal to my rain, but they were better through the sweaty activities of several days during the heat wave.
Using buttons on headphones you can break and play music, control the volume and/or activate Siri (customized in the application).
Charging case and battery life
A small pill-shaped black case puts runs when they charge or use it. The case is about the size of the palm and it is thicker than the case in the airpod and the rounder, so it does not fit well in the pocket.
Except for this minor details, the charging case for the run is attractive, well-fed and convenient to keep an eye on headphones. It is open snaps to let you look inside (they are a bit complicated in cases than airpods) and then it is closed again so that they are protected from dust, lint and lost.
The case has a built -in battery to provide the ongoing extra energy. On their own, Joyberd said that the headphones would last four hours, but my three hours, sometimes lasted three and a half hours. The case adds to another eight hours battery life, so you can go for about 10 hours without the need to recharge.
Both the case and run headphone can be charged with power adapters in a computer or standard USB that uses an inclusive micro USB cable that plugs at a port on the back of the case.
Fit and sound quality
They are not small headphones, but have tried to fit with different ears with various tips and wings that ship Joybard run. With the smallest fan and the smallest tips, I can get them in my ear so they are protected and don’t feel like I will fall off my head. Finus and tips, however, get smaller, medium and large.
Joyberd designed them as very secure so that they were suitable for running, but I had some mixed experience with high activities. I need to pull my ears by shaking my ear to hold these and the right way, and sometimes they work them a little farther away from my ears.
It can be a combination of my small ear size and not put them in the right way because of the size of the small ear, but no wire -free headphones are perfect. Most of the time, the run headphones put in my ears during strong activities, but there were two accidents.
Even when it is not quite secure, the fit of the run is more stronger than the fit I get with the airpods only because of the perfect size and I feel more confident with them than the airpods. If you have ears on the small side, like me, there may be some problems with fit, with tips and wings, they look like they will work well for most people.
Another thing to focus on the fit – the way I draw from my ear, if I go to my hair or something behind something, I can easily throw them out of place.
When it comes to ease, I don’t seem to have nothing in my ears because of the size and weight, but they felt comfortable wearing a few hours at once. And my ears will start some pain.
As sound quality, I was fascinated by the run. When located properly, the enclosed word is blocked, and when I have no sound expert they looked like my airpods and sometimes a little better. I thought they were a bit smaller and less clean than the airpods in some songs, but to others the word was warm and more prosperous. The overall word was crisp and in high extents, even in large quantities was uninterrupted. In the topic of volume, although some other headphones are not available as loud, the airpods include.
Using the Joyberd app, there is a graphical ecualizer that allows the lower, medium and high -range frequencies to customize your choice for the perfect word, which is a great touch. There are several presets and various types of music created by athletes for heavy songs.
There is a built -in microphone in the run to call and it is perfectly enough for the calls even if it is not the best microphone I used.
If you are riding or riding a bike and wanting to be able to hear the ambient sounds around you, you can use both earbud at the same time or simply use one (right).
Setup and Connect
The W1 chip that is on the airpod is exclusive with Apple, so all the other headphones, including runs, have to attach the standard way to the Bluetooth. Open the Bluetooth section of the Settings App, open the Joybird Run case while the headphones are inside and then choose them from the Bluetooth device list.
Once they are connected, run headphones will open the case whenever you open the case, which will be effective on your phone.
I had a few complaints about fit and sound quality with run, but the connection was another story in the end. My iPhone 7 Plus without a direct sight line, as my phone was in my pocket or my purse, the right earned to the left earned and the tendency to de-sink. It happened again and again, considering that I tried to reset them and re -try them. Even when I was just lazy, I had a problem with connection.
It’s not something that happened all the time – sometimes I was able to go for one or two hours without connection problems, but it was enough that it was a serious source of frustration when using the headphones.
Joybard’s app suggests your right arm or waist to be connected to an iPhone for the best Bluetooth connection during the app and it is it What Do better that way for most parts, but users need to have their phones right next to their headphones.
Bottom line
Giving customized fit and great noise quality quality of Joyberd Run, I really want to like them and recommend them to their runners who need something more angry and sustainable than the airpods, but they are at a strong sale with connection problems, especially at $ 180 price points.
There is probably not the firmware fix for this problem, perhaps not. Whatever the case, I’m not sure that if I have an iPhone in your hands or all the time at the risk of buying now, I am risking the purchase now if there is no one like that.
Joybard also has 2 new freedom 2 headphones that I have been able to test and still have the wire between their left and right earbuds, the connection is strong and it was a better audience experience with any cut out or sync problems.
Freedom 2 earbods have great words like the original freedom, but more customized, tight fit and new tips for a cord management system that are widely developed. They are small, stay in place, feel more comfortable while working, and can be customized using the Joyberd app.
Run can be something miss but freedom 2 is high -quality headphones that you need if you need something better and will keep up with a more vigorous activity than to endure the airpods. They were not less convenient than my new go-to-headphone and they were completely wire-free runs for work.
