Review: Ford’s sync 4 2021 brings wireless carplay to F -1550

One of the first F -550 pickup trucks that achieved the new Sync 4 Infotaining System for the 2021 model year was a popular F -550 pickup truck, and I recently got the opportunity to test the car to understand how the overall system works with the main new feature for iPhone owners: Wireless Carplay: Wireless Carplay.

If you shop up pickup trucks earlier, you know that they come to a huge array of configuration, including different trims, cab and bed size, engine and more. Although I recently did not check the upcoming All -Bedutin F -150, my 2021 exam car was a laryat trim 4×4 with a supercru cab and a 3.5L power boost full hybrid engine.

In addition to the larger touchscreen, there is a set of buttons and nobles for controlling various audio functions such as volume, tuning, play/break, ahead and back, change audio sources and access audio settings. Some of these functions can certainly be controlled using a steering wheel button.

Growing on the latest Infotainment platforms, the sync 4 supports the wireless and wireless -carplay that provides the maximum flexibility for the consolidation of the phone. Wireless setup is simple, just before the Wi-Fi connection is formed, only a quick pair of confirmation is needed via Bluetooth. From that point on, I felt the quick and uninterrupted connection whenever I started the car.

It is dominated by large digital tachometers and speedometer dials, but it can display some information like domestic navigation prompts in the center of the screen. It does not support promotes on the Second Screen-Curplay ‌ Apple Maps, which is not frustrating but not terrifying that the feature has just begun to be supported by a few manufacturers.

Charging and port

The F -150 provides an AL choshic wireless phone charger, but unfortunately, my Lerot Trim examiner was not equipped with it. The charger is included in the high-end King Ranch, Platinum and Limited Trims, and it is unfortunate that it is not available as an alternative to lower trims for complementing wireless-carplay and Android auto.

There are three sets of USB port through the cab, but there are both a USB-C port with each set and a USB-A port. A set for data and charging is located at the base of the center of the center of a generous media bin, where the wireless charging pad is located on trims that provide it. My feelings in Sink 4 in Ford F-150 in 2021 can really be divided into two parts: appearance and effectiveness. Simply put, I am not a great fan of the overall look of the system. The overall interface is very comparatively monochromatic, resulting in a disturbing appearance and making information and interactive components more tight. I do not like the light theme and the fairly bright gray color, while the blue theme of the dark theme provides a little more character, but still a color is too much for my tastes.

In terms of effectively, I have seen sync 4 as a very strong system that was easy to use, even considering the additional features, the F -150 includes thanks for being a workharors pickup. The system is responsive and I appreciate the flexibility of a split-screen view that simultaneously give access to both the carplay and the native system.

In the absence of a dashboard-style scene, my initial disappointment makes it easy to switch to the split-screen view and endless navigation bar functions, and the AR Carplay thinks the Carplay is just like another application, even is also wildly different than the local system.

If I have a problem with effectiveness, this is that I would like to see better use of the space in the overall design. There is a terrible lot of destruction along the top of the screen and I probably want to see a separate layout on a screen with a slightly different direction ratio that allows for a wider and larger Aarplaya blade in the system.

When it comes to the connection, F -150 certainly supplies an array of ports to help the devices connect and charge the devices and of course the wireless -carp is a convenient option that is great to see the standard across the trim.

I hope the charging of the wireless phone was not only limited to the higher trim level, as it seemed to me that the sticker price was being driven to me a car to $ 70,000, but it did not provide the feature as an alternative to the trim. I still believe in Firm that wireless phone charging should be at least one option if a vehicle is not standardized which includes wireless cornersplay and Android Auto.
