Video review: Motorola’s Verveones earbuds are truly wireless but come at a cost

For the past year, I’ve exclusively used Bluetooth earbuds. For me, the convenience of not tethering to my phone outweighs any downside to sound quality, but not all pairs I’ve owned before have been truly wireless; They are always connected with some kind of wire.

These are Motorola’s Verveons, and they’re the first pair of truly wireless earbuds I’ve ever used In the package you get two earbuds and a carrying case for charging. It’s a simple setup that gives you portability and battery life

VerveOnes connect to each other and to your phone via Bluetooth. For the most part, when using them, the connection was strong, but there were instances where some interference was noticeable.

Sound quality is average. There is a decent amount of bass, but the sound is generally muddled with no real depth and has a tendency to clip at higher high volumes. These are a pair of earbuds for convenience, not stellar sound.

After a few weeks of testing, the VerveOnes are hard to recommend. They can be purchased from the VerveLife website for $199, but for that price, connectivity issues and sound quality make the earbuds a tough sell.
