Those who live in the city may be annoyed to discover that there isn’t a power outlet behind every tree or rock. For those who head outdoors with their electronics, bringing some means of charging them is crucial. But there may also be times, perhaps in bad weather, when it may be important to have a power bank that can power phones, tablets, and even laptops. When that happens, having a rugged power bank that can handle the adversity can make all the difference.
To be clear, the Ugreen portable charger is not a small device that you use when your phone dies at the end of the day. This powerful power bank has enough power to handle multiple devices and charges, making it ideal for offline environments or emergencies. With a reputation for quality products, Ugreen has made this device sturdy enough to withstand years of regular use. However, it is also heavy and not something you can take with you on long hikes, and its price tag can be a bit of a burden.

Price and availability
Launch discounts make it accessible to everyone.
Ugreen-branded products are often widely available, but this one is initially limited to Amazon, with a $60 discount for Prime members. It’s also available directly from Ugreen, currently priced at $140, a $60 discount on the standard $200 price. This is one of the most expensive power banks out there, but few offer the features and specs of this product.
What are the good features of Ugreen 300W 48000mAh Power Bank?
Power, power, power
The main feature is undoubtedly the 48,000mAh battery capacity, which can charge the iPhone 15 nearly eleven times before it runs out. Even the huge battery in the new Galaxy S24 Ultra can be replenished more than seven times by this battery.
Having that power is nice, but the options for delivering that power are exceptional. Three phones can be charged at 100W simultaneously, or up to five phones, for a total demand of less than 300W. A single connected device can handle 140W, which is the same amount the battery can accept to charge using PD3.1 fast charging in 90 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review: Still the best, unless you take photos
Without any major changes, Samsung’s latest tablet looks like a rehash of last year’s smartphone
Using Lifepo4 battery technology, Ugreen claims that after 3,000 charge cycles, the battery will still have 80% of its available capacity. That’s the equivalent of discharging and recharging every day for ten years and still working, which is impressive if accurate.
Along with the excellent battery, this product provides useful information via a smart display on how much power is being put out and in. It also features a three-mode LED light on the side that anyone who campers will find useful.
The power bank also includes a three-foot 6A 240W C to C charger cable designed for use with it.
What’s bad about Ugreen portable charger?
Not an item that can be carried on board.
When you first take this product out of the box, you’ll be shocked by its weight. It weighs 4.1 pounds, so it needs a carrying handle to keep it from falling over, and it’s not something you can throw around in your belongings if you’re hiking.
However, its size also poses another hidden problem when it comes to transporting batteries on planes. While the rules on this are specific to the airline, in general, it is not possible to carry a battery with a capacity of more than 27,000 mAh on a plane. This means that you cannot take this device on a trip that involves flying at some point.
This may be a dealbreaker for some, but it would be the same problem if you found another product with a similar battery capacity. The other issue is that Ugreen includes a USB-C cable designed for the required charging power. However, for a $200 price tag, it doesn’t include a charger. While a USB-C cable designed for a 100W laptop should be enough to charge it reasonably quickly, charging it with a regular phone charger can take much longer than 90 minutes.
Purchasing a charger with the right specifications, like the Ugreen Nexode 100W USB-C Charger, will make an already expensive product even more expensive.
Should you buy it?
It’s amazing in the right context.
If you can handle the weight of a power bank, and don’t plan on walking around with it, this is a very stylish product that lives up to Ugreen’s high reputation. The design is simple and clean; the screen tells you everything you need to know, and the battery capacity is enough to keep a high-end phone going for a few weeks. If you take this product with you on a drone adventure, it can eliminate the need for multiple batteries by recharging the first one you bring before using the last one.
This system could be very useful for both power and lighting for those living in off-grid housing or at their favorite camping spots. We hope it will be cheaper, so that everyone can have it in their homes in the event of an unexpected power outage or severe weather.
The problem is the price. When you consider that you can buy multiple smaller power banks that add up to a lot of power for less, this solution can be quite expensive. However, having a single device where you can click a button and instantly see how much power you have left is always going to be a more elegant solution. The size and cost of this product puts it in a gap between lightweight products, like the Ugreen RG 30W Nexode GaN USB-C Charger, and more expensive Power Station products. It’s an ideal companion for any adventure unless you’re traveling on foot.
